Welcome to GBAircraft.com!
GB, Genovese Brothers Dave and Perry, specialize in Giant Scale models of the Dan Rihn DR109. A 2 seat version of
the One Design aerobatic full scale aircraft. Currently we produce a 35% version and have fully tested a prototype
47% version.

Our models differ from all others out there in several ways: First and foremost each one is custom built to order and is
not mass-produced. Another big difference is the quality of materials … we use only 4-6lb contest balsa. Our supplier
knows what we expect and hand picks it for us. At times this causes delays when materials are not available but we
feel strongly about the material we put into these models. The top supplier of fiberglass parts here in the US custom
makes our glass and canopies very light for us. Finally, our construction design …the fuselage is built up truss, which
is then partially sheeted. Turtle decks are not foam but rather simply balsa sheeting wrapped around formers. The end
result is a very rigid, strong, and undoubtedly the lightest plane in its class. We make this claim boldly and honestly,
and highly doubt anybody can produce a plane of this caliber in this weight.

The attention to detail is very fine. For example, even our wing tips are contest balsa and hollowed out! The shape of
our fuselage is also rare in today's world of ARF's. It is truly tapered as close to scale as we can get it from nose to tail
as well as top to bottom. No straight slab sides here. The wing roots are built up prior to sheeting to match the fuse
side curvatures. Not coincidentally, the fuse is jig built to ensure 'trueness'.

Finally, it must be pointed out that our planes are truly Ready To Cover.

Welcome to our world of the DR109, quite possibly the best overall plane in its class, (more than one person on more
than one occasion has expressed that to us!) Expanding the envelope with the highest power to weight ratio in its
class! Please select a button on the left menu to enter our site.
